please help!

All those flyers I've been carrying around and posting in strange places like your refridgerators or coffeeshops in Wrigleyville, well, they actually have a purpose.

For those of you who enjoy kids and are committed to inspiring creativity, as well as fostering those great ideas that already exist, 826CHI needs your help!

826CHI is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting students ages 6 to 18 with their creative and expository writing skills, and to helping teachers inspire their students to write...

visit www.826chi.org for detailed information, but that's the gist of it...and if you're wondering, hmmm, maybe this is something worthwhile, then please please hit this event:

Sunday, September 25thThe 826CHI Security Deposit BenefitThe Metro3730 North Clark Street Doors at 7 p.m. / Show at 7:30 p.m. $10
We couldn't be more excited to hold our first 826CHI fund-raiser, given its name in honor of our newly-signed lease. With that in mind, we hope you will join us, and bring many of your friends, to the Metro for a evening of fine Chicago music. Performers will be The Watchers, Baby Teeth, The Scotland Yard Gospel Choir, and Archer Prewitt. Tickets can be purchased at
http://www.metrochicago.com/, at the Metro box office, and at the door the evening of the event.

I don't know who any of these bands are, maybe Darling or Hummingbird or the now-defunct PST would be able to fill me in? Either way, even if you hate these bands, there will be plenty of resources available there! Invite your rents and your neighbors! I certainly will, though I may have to brief my mom on what this benefit might be like; probably not the cheese-croquettes-and-chardonnay-in-a-loft-warehouse she had envisioned.

I'm excited! And can't wait for 826CHI to be up and running!

If I've already convinced you, and you're interested in volunteering, visit this link to fill out the volunteer application and read more about what you'd be able to offer as a volunteer:

http://www.826chi.org/volunteer.php

If I haven't convinced you, well, then I'm cornering you the next time I see you and will go pretend-lawyer on your ass with about 13 good reasons why you should do this. Maybe even 22 good reasons, but I'll have to prepare my case.
